Find an engine by its price, appearance and bonuses, then replace your current equipment. The catalog covers Basic Engine, Wins purchases and premium engines, with level conditions attached to their stats.

Starter Engine costs 100 Wins, and Standard Jet costs 500 Wins. Open Engine using the rocket icon on the left, buy your chosen engine, then press Equip. If “Cannot equip more engines” appears while the counter is 1/1, select your equipped engine and press Unequip before equipping the replacement.

Boat Race with 99 Engines: Engine Prices and Equipment Guide — illustrated cover

Engine Catalog and Level-Specific Stats

Basic Engine is your starting equipped engine. Starter Engine costs 100 Wins, while Standard Jet costs 500 Wins. The catalog includes these three engines, six further Wins purchases and three premium options; use each item's currency and appearance to identify it.

Read each bonus alongside its level condition. Basic Engine and Starter Engine have different stats at different upgrade levels, while Standard Jet's listed bonuses belong to its purchase panel. Purchase prices unlock the model; upgrade costs improve an engine you already own.

For an early replacement, Starter Engine at Level 1 has higher Wins, Acc and Train bonuses than Basic Engine at Level 6. Standard Jet's purchase panel is higher still. See the early engine tier list for the budget-based choice between buying a replacement and upgrading your current engine.

Buy and Equip a Replacement

  1. Open Engine with the rocket icon on the left side of the screen.
  2. Select the engine you want. Have 100 Wins for Starter Engine or 500 Wins for Standard Jet.
  3. Pay the displayed purchase price to unlock it. After unlocking Starter Engine, the purchase button changes to Equip.
  4. Press Equip to use the engine. If your equipment counter is full, follow the replacement steps below.
  5. Look for the green check on the engine's menu tile, then close the menu to see it on your boat.

Starter Engine has a white body with red bands, a gray nose cone and yellow-orange exhaust. Standard Jet has a blue-and-white body with yellow exhaust. Selecting a preview alone does not change your equipment.

You can open the Engine menu and buy Starter Engine while a race continues. If you are deciding between an engine and another equipment category, use the early buying priorities guide to match the purchase to your next goal.

Fix Cannot Equip More Engines

When the counter reads 1/1, your one available engine slot is occupied. Unlocking another engine does not free that slot.

To replace Basic Engine with an already unlocked Starter Engine:

  1. Select Basic Engine, the white-and-green engine marked with the equipped check.
  2. Press Unequip. The counter changes to 0/1, and a plus sign appears in the bottom engine bar.
  3. Select Starter Engine and press Equip.
  4. Confirm the success message and green equipped check. The counter returns to 1/1, now with Starter Engine equipped.

Check the counter even if the error first appears during a race. The full-slot message can also appear between races; waiting for a race to finish does not free an occupied slot.

Find Galactic Thruster and Blaze Drift

Find Engine Upgrade beneath the red-and-white umbrella near START, then look on either side of the station:

  • Galactic Thruster — 49 Robux: the white-and-red rocket-shaped engine on the left.
  • Blaze Drift — 299 Robux: the black-and-red winged engine on the right, beside START.

The Engine menu also lists a 1,699-Robux multi-fin engine in its top row, third position. These are Robux purchases, so a Wins balance will not cover their prices. Choose paid equipment by its displayed bonuses and your intended use, rather than treating a higher price as a strength ranking.

Read Slots Separately from Thruster Appearance

The Engine counter shows equipped engines against available slots. Use it to manage equipment: one equipped engine can produce several visible thrusters on the boat, so counting rocket bodies does not tell you how many equipment slots are occupied.

Boat panels separately display rocket icons: ×1 for Wooden Raft and Canadian Canoe, ×2 for Boat, and ×3 for Motor Boat. Check those alongside the other boat prices and stats, then use the Engine menu's actual counter when equipping engines.

To improve an owned engine's bonuses, use the engine upgrade guide and costs. Upgrading an unequipped engine does not automatically equip it.
